We publish select submissions from our readers and invite anyone with a camera and an keen eye to send us your photos that represent your unique perspective on Thunder Bay and surrounding areas, it can be anything such as an event, snapshot, place or people. We’re looking for variety, so don’t limit your subject matter. The more unique your shot, the better the chance it will stand out to our photo editors. Photos will be selected for the tbsource.com website and also for the Thunder Bay's Source newspaper.
Now the legal stuff. Photos submitted remain the copyright of the photographer, but by submitting a picture it is understood Thunder Bay’s Source and its subsidiaries are given permission to use the photo as editorial content and without remuneration to the photographer. They may also be used in promotional material. Only original work shot by the person submitting the photos will be considered. No doctoring, digital or otherwise, other than lightening or sharpening, of images is acceptable. Electronic photos should be jpegs, and if you would like a chance to be included in the newspaper it will need to be a minimum 150 dpi, minimum size four inches by six inches. Larger is better, especially for potential cover shots. Please do not imprint photos with digital name tags or dates. We ask that only photos that you have taken, or have permission from the owner to submit, be sent to us. Due to the nature of the Internet, we cannot guarantee the authenticity of any photos on our site, nor do we verify any photos we receive.
